Here's an overview of the key components that could be included in such a course: 1. Introduction to Mental Health: The course will begin with an introduction to mental health, including an overview of common mental health conditions such as anxiety, depression, and stress-related disorders. 2. Signs and Symptoms: Educating participants about the signs and symptoms of common mental health issues can help them recognize when they or their colleagues may be struggling. This can include changes in behaviour, mood, or performance at work. 3. Stigma and Stereotypes: Discussing the stigma and stereotypes surrounding mental health can help to reduce discrimination and encourage open conversations about mental health in the workplace. 4. Stress Management: Providing tools and techniques for managing stress can help employees cope with the pressures of work and reduce the risk of developing mental health problems. 5. Communication Skills: Teaching effective communication skills can help employees feel more comfortable discussing mental health concerns with their colleagues and managers. 6. Support and Resources: Providing information about internal and external resources available to support mental health, such as employee assistance programs, counselling services, and community resources. 7. Self-Care and Well-being: Educating employees about the importance of self-care and well-being, including strategies for maintaining a healthy work-life balance and promoting positive mental health. 8. Creating a Supportive Workplace Culture: Discussing ways to create a supportive workplace culture that promotes mental well-being, including strategies for reducing workplace stress and fostering a sense of community and support among employees. 9. Legal and Policy Considerations: Providing an overview of relevant laws and company policies related to mental health in the workplace, including information about confidentiality and accommodations for employees with mental health conditions. Course is provided at your workplace over a full day for up to 20 participants. Location is subject to availability and may incur extra charge, speak to a member of our team for more information.
